Katarmal Surya Mandir was built by Katarmal, the ruler of the medieval Katyuri dynasty, in the 6th to 9th centuries. Here you can see an unmatched example of the craftsmanship done on the stones of the temples. The temple was built on a high platform, the broken peak of which still gives a feeling of the vastness and grandeur of this temple.
